Beer is cheaper than Soda

Not kidding. Everywhere we go here in Prague there is just about any type of food you could imagine…and the beer is cheaper than soda (and pretty much the same price as water). You can imagine how this brilliant upside could prove troublesome when managing two kids who haven’t developed the same degree of fondness that Tara & I have for European beer gardens.

Anyway, we’ve spent the last week continuing to explore all that Prague has to offer while taking some necessary breaks from the 90s+ heat at some of the local pools and water parks. If you’re ever in the area and find yourself in the middle of a continental heat-wave, be sure to check out the AquaPalace!

Here are a few other pics from the week…

National Theatre
Who knew these still existed…except for its dinosaur cousin in Camas, WA
Calm before the storm

Caden & Keira had so much fun mapping out different walking tours through Prague that Tara & I decided to have them kick-off round 2.

Caden II:

A visit to the Prague Lego Museum
The ONLY Cubist lamp post in the world!
The National Museum

We also took a stroll through Prague’s Art Nouveau Hlavni Nadrazi train station before wrapping up our tour at, you guessed it…a beer garden. To limit your exposure to our merriment (and poor photogeneity) we’ve decided it would be best to blur-out the picture.

You’re welcome.

Keira II:

Started the tour atop Prague’s Dancing House
Strolled around the New Town Hall
Enjoyed some beautiful buildings along the way…
And then paused to recalibrate after I made the family miss our tram (but check out the new haircut on Caden)
With a final stop at the 2nd ugliest building in the world, the Zizkov Tower

Long story short, we’re having a ton of fun in Prague. The food, the drinks, the parks & the people have been awesome…and for those of you with a sweet tooth there are candy stores and treat shops on just about every corner. DO NOT miss the Trozkol…rolled dough that is wrapped around a stick, then grilled and topped with a sugar and walnut mix. THEN…they fill it! We’ve opted for the fresh strawberry, Nutella, vanilla ice cream and whip cream option. Twice!

Oh, and don’t miss out on Beergeek. They have awesome wings and 30 beers on tap. Our favorite were the JZP (classic buffalo-style sauce with a cajun garlic twist)…but if you’re brave (and a little stupid) go for Fear the Reaper (a blend of citrusy Habaneros, fiery hot Ghost Peppers and deadly Carolina Reapers).

Tomorrow we’re off to Munich for a few days where we’ll take in some football at the 2019 Audi Cup (Real Madrid vs. Tottenham and then Bayern Munich vs. Fenerbahce) and then we’re off to Salzburg and the Austrian Alps.

Ahoy!
