Reality Czech

After all of our posts about awe-inspiring sights and amazing food it occurred to me that this blog may have become a bit too instagrammed. That’s right, we’re still human.

I had been anticipating a 10 day breakdown period where we would start looking at each other after a few short weeks wondering who the $#@! are these maniacs I’m traveling with. With a little luck I was hoping that we could learn to like (ok, at least tolerate) each other after another month or so.

So here we are, just about 4 weeks in and everything feels pretty much…normal. Tara & I still argue about who has the better sense of direction (although we both pretty much know it’s me*), Caden & Keira argue about screen time, who gets the better deck in Magic, who gets to unlock the door, who gets to press the elevator button, and who got the unfairly larger portion of food…just like home! To that end, I would like to officially apologize to all of my aunts and uncles who for years accused my sister & I of being painfully loud children. It turns out they were horribly, horribly correct…and payback has hit us square in the face with these two wonderful children.

*Editorial Privilege.

Yes, there are certainly a few entertaining pictures of these less-than-instagrammable moments…but for those of you with endearingly flawed families & friends I’ll just let you imagine what 24 hours a day, 7 days a week would look like. For those of you who might be having trouble picturing this…we all wish you the best of luck in meeting your first human.

Fondly, The Often-Hangry Socquets
