Despite Princess Daria’s lack of affinity for the passenger seat in our rental car (something about lumbar this and shoulder that), we successfully made it down the Dalmatian Coast, crossed in and out of Bosnia & Herzegovina and arrived into Dubrovnik. Speaking of Princess Daria, she’s also (I’m assuming) shaking her head right now at the extra-cheesy post title…but the picture above is the view that we walked into at our apartment in Dubrovnik, and it’s awesome here!

The walled city of Dubrovnik is incredible, the maze of ancient alleyways are beautiful and the budget-busting food is crazy expensive! We tried out a few recommendations from our host, Moskar where the filet Adriatic was exceptional and our favorite Taj Mahal, a traditional Bosnian restaurant where everything was fantastic.
Even though the heat was on hyper-drive for our visit (90 during the day and barely below 78 at night) we did lots of exploring between beach breaks…

touring Fort Lovrijenac…

hiking up Mt. Srd…

and trekking the great Walls of Dubrovnik!
The first 2 weeks of our adventure are officially in the books, our family still likes (tolerates) each other, and Caden has already burned through 2 books. Tomorrow morning we take off for Berlin, Germany to see what new adventures await.

Until next time, Croatia.

I love the alleyways and streets with the lights at night! So, so pretty.
